FRS 102 Financial-Statement Drafting
Management-support drafting for UK and Irish private entities that need coherent statements, framework-aware disclosures and a controlled route to external review.
The reporting need
Convert approved records into an internally consistent FRS 102 statement set.
The work separates statement drafting from unresolved accounting decisions and missing source information.
- 01Primary statements and notes need to be rebuilt from the current trial balance.
- 02Accounting policies and disclosure requirements have changed or drifted.
- 03Group accounts require consolidation schedules and consistent policies.
- 04The external review process needs a clear issues list and controlled revisions.
Scope and complexity
FRS 102 is not one uniform drafting problem.
Complexity is driven by entity eligibility, group structure, financial instruments, leases, business combinations, foreign currency, deferred tax, impairment, related parties, going concern and the quality of underlying schedules.
Small-entity presentation, Section 1A disclosures, group exemptions and the interaction with company-law requirements must be confirmed for the actual entity. The engagement does not assume that a prior-year template remains appropriate.
Controlled delivery
From mapping to handover
Scope
Confirm the entity, framework, presentation basis, timetable and evidence request.
Map
Tie approved balances and comparative information to the statement architecture.
Draft
Prepare primary statements, policies, notes and visible unresolved matters.
Review
Process consolidated management and external-review comments through controlled revisions.
Explicit exclusions
Management responsibility remains visible.
The service does not include bookkeeping reconstruction, Companies House or HMRC submission, iXBRL tagging, tax advice, valuation, legal advice, audit, review or assurance unless a separate eligible provider is engaged.
Management approves the accounting policies, estimates, judgements, completeness, going-concern assessment and final statements.
A practical first step
Test the reporting basis and information readiness before fixing the fee.
Scoping begins with the prior statements, current trial balance, entity structure and material technical areas.
